Jane Fielder is an artist and gallery owner. For as long as she can remember she has always painted. She produces work prolifically. Her subject matter is varied though certain themes run through her work – finding order out of chaos – beauty from ugliness – and since her father’s death ten years ago much of her work looks at things to do with the ageing process. Jane is optimistic and believes that good can be found in most situations. This is reflected in her work, which is often bright, vibrant and contains quirky good humour. She loves to play.
She has exhibited widely and has work in collections worldwide including Stadthaus-Galerie, Hamm, Germany, Starbucks and Bradford museums collection. She has carried out many commissions. A recent novel by well known author Sophie Hannah ‘The Other Half Lives’ was dedicated to her and talks about her work.
‘Janescapes’ her popular quirky urban landscapes can be seen on her website www.janefielder.com, but this represents one small area of her work. To see more visit her gallery – The Bingley Gallery at 29A Park Road, Bingley.
